Alexa Lim Haas

Alexa Lim Haas is a multidisciplinary story artist and teacher from New York City. She was introduced to yoga as a teenager in 2005 and never forgot the first time she experienced quiet in body and mind, a rarity for a child of Manhattan! From 2012 to 2014 she worked with Reach Within which teaches trauma-informed yoga and self-regulation techniques to the caregivers and children of group homes in Grenada. It wasn’t until 2018 that Alexa began a new chapter of a disciplined daily yoga practice. In 2023 she completed a 500HR teacher training with Rodney Yee and Colleen Saidman Yee at The Yoga Shanti. Alexa teaches poetic sequences that cultivate alignment and a deep state of awareness, intuition and imagination. Two of her favorite Sanskrit words are Svadhyaya (Self-Study) and Lila (Play), and she aims to encourage yoga as a tool for inspiration, self-expression and self-discovery.

I received my initial yoga training in 2015 under the guidance of Keri Setaro and Paula Loose. I have deepened my training with a focus on Restorative and Yin Yoga through Laughing Lotus and the individual instruction of Bo Forbes and Bethany Leigh.

In addition to teaching movement classes, I also offer guided meditation. My approach integrates traditional practices with intuitive guidance. I have completed the Foundations of MBSR teacher training and am currently working towards my MBSR teacher certification.
